Text 1
The Old Witch

There was once a little girl who was very obstinate and disobedient. How could such a girl be happy? One day she said to her parents, "I have heard so much of the old witch that I will go and see her. People say that she is a wonderful old woman and has many marvelous things in her house and I am very curious to see them."

Her parents, however, forbade her from going, saying, "The witch is a wicked old woman who performs many ungodly deeds and if you go near her, you are no longer a child of ours."

The girl however would not turn back at her parents command. But went to the witch's house. When she arrived there the woman asked her, "Why are you so pale?"
“Ah!", replied she, trembling all over, "I am so frightened with what I have just seen."
“And what did you see?" inquired the old witch.
“I saw a black man on your steps."
“That was a collier", she replied.

“Then I saw a grey man."
"That was a sportsman", said the old woman.
“After him I saw a blood-red man."
“That was a butcher", replied the woman,
“But oh, I was most terrified", continued the girl, "When I peeped through your window, and saw none but a creature with a fiery head."
"Then you have seen the witch in her proper dress", said the old woman; "for you, I have long waited and now you shall give me light."

So saying she changed the girl into a block of wood and then threw it into the fire and when it was alight she sat down on the hearth and warmed herself and said, "And now for once it burns brightly!"

Solo a Model for SME Development
The way former Surakarta (Solo) mayor Joko “Jokowi” Widodo developed his hometown apparently impressed not only its citizens, but also economist and central bankers.
Bank Indonesia invited dozens of  journalist last week to Surakarta to show them how the city administration  there had been successful ini developing the small and medium enterprises (SME) sectors, a lending segment that the central bank saw as crucial for Indonesia’s economic development.
“The development of SMEs here is really exceptional,” said Suryono, the deputy head of BI in Surakarta. He pointed out how lending growth in the SMEs sector in Surakarta topped 19.05 percent this year, outpacing the national average of 13 percent.
A small city with a population of only around 500.000, Surakarta accounted for 23.6 percent of the RP 154 trillion (US$ 15.97 billion) of total channeled credits in Central Java Province, a large fraction of which goes to the city’s SMEs lending segment.
“This happened because the Surakarta city administration has been very supportive of the SMEs, doing anything from providing new places for the SMEs (to do business) to allowing them to extend their selling hours until very late at night,” he added.

 Dear Anna,

Hi,
How have you been? Hoping you are always in a good and blessed condition. I know you are angry with me because I’m writing to you after a long time. I’m so sorry, please forgive me.
I’m writing to you from this really cute view at Kelok Sembilan. As you know it’s our first visit to Sumatera so we are amazed that the scenes and views are all magnificent. While I’m enjoying grilled corn on the roadsides in Kelok Sembilan, I decided to write to you.
This morning we visited Istana Pagaruyung. How great the building is! I’m wondering still. We’ve been to Harau waterfall. So far we’ve seen four places! You can imagine how busy we are.
Yesterday we went to Jam Gadang in Bukit Tinggi. We also visited their market, Pasar Bukittinggi. Mum is shopping lover, so we spent the time there almost all day long.  We bought Many beautiful tunik and bordir materials. I wish you were here. And I’m sure you would spend your money more than ours!
Miss you times a million, see you back in Bekasi on 21st.

Love,

Renita

P.S.  I’m bringing you souvenirs and foods!

Many, many years ago, in a far, far away kingdom there lived a beautiful princess. She had long red hair and loved roses so much that everyone called her Princes Rose. Every evening after dusk, Princes Rose went out on the balcony and clapped her hands. A golden bird came, flying out of nowhere and alighted on her shoulder. Instantly, the princess's hair began to shine, ablaze with brilliant red light.
When the bird started to warble an enchanting tune, Princess Rose joined it in a song, and everyone in the kingdom fell asleep and had sweet dreams till the break of dawn.
Thus passed the years. Every evening Princess Rose, along with the little golden bird, sang a loving lullaby, so that all people fell asleep and had sweet dreams till the break of dawn.
Until one day something terrible happened. A wicked witch learned about Princess Rose and decided to curse her. "Abracadabra, Sim-Sala-Bim, may the rose's color dim!" the witch said, and Princess Rose's hair instantly turned as black as tar.
That evening, too, Princess Rose went out on her balcony and clapped her hands. But when the golden bird appeared, her hair glowed black instead of red. The bird warbled its enchanting melody, and Princess Rose sang her lullaby.
Everyone in the kingdom fell asleep, but that night they only had bad dreams and nightmares.
Since then, the people have not only sweet dreams but also nightmares.
